Claire Lenne has been an emergency doctor since 2015. For the past nine years, she has worked mainly at the public hospital on Reunion Island. She regularly carries out long-term missions in unusual environments: scientific expedition ships, oil clinics in Africa, medical evacuations over the Pacific, luxury cruise ships, dispensaries in the Amazon rainforest, nuclear power plants in China. She recently accompanied a major logistical expedition in tracked tractors across the Antarctic. She has published two books with Editions Balland, “Docteur Globe-trotter” in 2022, and “Tour du monde en blouse blanche” in 2024, which combine medicine and travel, full of adventures and reflections drawn from everyday life.
Dr. Claire Lenne presents a number of care contexts she has experienced: on a scientific expedition ship, in an oil clinic in Gabon, in a dispensary in Guyana's Amazon rainforest, on a luxury cruise ship off the coast of Iceland; but also in the emergency department of Saint-Pierre et Miquelon or during the Antarctic Raid.
Dealing with fear, having ambition, working on self-confidence: these are just some of the challenges that Dr Claire Lenne proposes to take up, between knowledge and sharing experiences.
